URBNSURF, Australia's first wave pool company, and Surfing Mums, a not-for-profit enabling mums and carers get back in the water, are excited to announce the launch of the Surfing Mums URBNSURF Melbourne Group - the world's first surf/care swap initiative at a surf park.
The Surfing Mums URBNSURF Melbourne group is a unique program that allows new and existing Surfing Mums members to meet at URBNSURF, buddy up and take turns surfing and caring for each other’s children. The award winning URBNSURF facility provides a safe and sheltered environment for the children and, consistent, fun waves for the carers during each meetup.

Surfing Mums mission of supporting families in their healthy, active lifestyles aligns with URBNSURF's goal to make surfing more accessible to everyone. By providing a safe and supportive environment for mothers and other carers who surf, URBNSURF and Surfing Mums hope to encourage more people with caring responsibilities to take up or get back into the sport.

The Surfing Mums URBNSURF Melbourne group will start by holding meetups on Mondays during the 10am Intermediate and 11am Cruiser sessions, with lessons and play in the bays available to beginner surfers across both time slots. Surfing Mums is looking for a volunteer to join our team as Surfing Mums group coordinator. Just as in our beach-based groups, coordinators help organise the weekly meetup, welcome new members and stay in touch with Surfing Mums headquarters. All new and existing Surfing Mums members will be eligible to attend and enjoy access to the meet ups at URBNSURF. New and existing Surfing Mums members will receive a 10% discount on all sessions, including the weekly meetups
An annual membership to Surfing Mums costs $52 which covers insurance, annual gift, sponsor discounts and unlimited meets at any group across the country. URBNSURF sessions start at $35 per hour.
